Its not. There are other really ugly ones like it around somewhere. If you search google theres even an old website w/ some screens and a description.
It was from the *very* beginning lol.

EDIT: I decided to be unlazy. Here it is... http://www.gamerevolution.com/oldsit...guild_wars.htm

thats pretty crazy. I knew that GW had been around for a little while but had no idea its been around since '03. judging by the picks it sure has come a long way.

Its funny cuz until you guys brought up blood and hadnt even realized that there wasnt any blood on the game.

I was digging through some of my old game videos and came across a trailer for GW from E3 2003.

Yea, its a shame there isnt any gore in GW,... I understand the reasons why, but I dunno.. I reckon it would be MORE popular, look how popular Grand Theft Auto is!
I agree, gore would bring much more... interesting screenshots nowadays, and gore should only be seen if you have condition bleeding, a gash on you if you have deep wound and like gash if you are cripplied, make it look more realiststc

Anyway Interface improved and graphics improved since the convention

Blood would definitely bring new depths to the game, I would enjoy it so much more. Its rated Teens, and last time I checked Teens can handle a few red stains here and there...

And I agree with Potato, Bleeding should definitely show up with conditions such as bleeding or crippled. Heck I think daze should blur the screen the same way dwarven ale does...

I agree with the blood, the really should bring that back into the game, one thing that i did notice, in one of the pic's at the merchant, you could buy necklaces...mmm i wonder why they took that out, and also wonder if they'll bring that back into play somehow. Like someone else posted about the capes, good to see that they got rid of the baby bibs in front that is so damn ugly...great thread btw..

I agree, I would love to have that old compass and the border theme.

Bleeding does show in the current version. It's that dark-red cloud thingy around a bleeding char

Lol, I love all the low HP bars before it was doubled. Also, does anyone remember the reason why they changed Khylo? That was such a cool name.

Khylo was arbitrarily close to "Cairo" when translated into Korean, and probably other languages as well. Apparently when that came up in a meeting they had a collective brain fart and we're left with Ascalon City. =p

That makes sence...I remember hearing something like that now.

We still have Khylo axes (or did well after Khylo was removed) you would think they would have either changed all of them...or left them.

Thanks a ton for posting these screens! I started playing just after the game came out, and I love to see these pictures. Of course the majority of changes have been good, but I do some some parts of the old UI.

I mean they should also leave a trail of blood on the soil.... so that it'll be easier to track down those damn runners... lol just kidding. But seriously, blood trails are cool.
